Tshwane Seeks Private Partnerships to Fast-Track Housing Delivery

Written on

Tshwane is turning to developers, financiers, and communities to tackle its housing backlog. City leaders say stronger partnerships are key to unlocking land, attracting investment, and accelerating sustainable housing projects.

The City of Tshwane has pledged to accelerate the delivery of sustainable human settlements through stronger collaboration with developers, investors, financial institutions, researchers, and local communities. The strategy aims to address housing backlogs, infrastructure constraints, and the growth of informal settlements while creating integrated communities supported by modern infrastructure, innovative financing, and climate-conscious building solutions. The city is also prioritising housing access for vulnerable and low-income groups as it seeks to attract greater private sector participation.
