Goldkey Launches Institutional-Grade REIT to Unlock Accra Property Capital
Written on
Goldkey Properties has unveiled a new institutional-grade REIT, giving investors structured access to prime commercial assets in Accra. The launch signals growing momentum for regulated real estate investment vehicles in Ghana’s capital markets.
Goldkey Properties has launched Ghana’s latest institutional-grade real estate investment trust (REIT), expanding access to premium commercial property through a regulated investment structure. The vehicle, known as Rangoon REIT, was introduced following an oversubscribed initial public offering, reflecting strong investor appetite for income-generating real estate assets in Accra.
The REIT is backed by prime commercial properties within Cantonments City, including landmark office developments such as the Huawei Building and the PwC Tower. These assets are leased to multinational tenants under long-term agreements, providing stable rental income potential for investors.
Structured under Securities and Exchange Commission regulations, the REIT pools capital from institutional and qualified investors, offering exposure to high-value real estate without requiring direct property ownership. This model is increasingly seen as a bridge between Ghana’s capital markets and its fast-growing urban property sector.
Industry stakeholders say the launch reflects a broader push to deepen financial instruments tied to real estate, particularly as pension funds and long-term capital seek diversified, inflation-hedged investments. The development also aligns with regulatory efforts to formalize and expand participation in commercial property markets.
Looking ahead, analysts expect REIT structures like this to play a growing role in financing large-scale developments and improving liquidity in Ghana’s real estate sector as demand for institutional-grade assets continues to rise.
